TOUR Championship Delivers Community Impact with Record-Setting Contribution from 2025 Tournament
Over $7.3 million gifted to local nonprofits, supporting key initiatives across Metro Atlanta
ATLANTA – The TOUR Championship announced a record $7.3 million contribution from the 2025 event, up from $7.2 million in 2024. The announcement was made during Charles R. Drew Charter School’s annual STEAM Day, which brought together nearly 60 junior-year students from Drew Charter School at Southern Company Headquarters to dive deeper into STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) within the workplace.
The TOUR Championship has now raised more than $71 million for local nonprofits since the event was first staged at East Lake Golf Club in 1998. With the support of its Proud Partners Accenture, Coca-Cola, and Southern Company, the event has contributed to five key community organizations: East Lake Foundation, First Tee – Metro Atlanta, Focused Community Strategies, Grove Park Foundation and Purpose Built Schools Atlanta, among others.
"We’re proud to celebrate a record $7.3 million in community impact this year. It’s a reflection of the steadfast support of our partners, fans and the broader Atlanta community. Their continued dedication fuels our ability to invest in programs that truly strengthen and enrich the lives of people across Metro Atlanta,” said Alex Urban, Executive Director of the TOUR Championship.
The announcement was made during Charles R. Drew Charter School’s 2026 STEAM Day, where nearly 60 juniors gathered off-campus at Southern Company headquarters for an immersive learning experience focused on science, technology, engineering, arts and math in the workplace. The annual event connects students with professionals and real-world career pathways, reflecting Drew Charter School’s commitment to experiential learning and student growth beyond the classroom. By bringing classroom learning into a professional setting, STEAM Day at Southern Company highlights the power of exposure, mentorship and opportunity in helping students imagine and pursue their futures.
“We are honored to celebrate this record-setting contribution along with the TOUR Championship’s other non-profit beneficiaries,” said Ilham Askia, President and CEO of the East Lake Foundation. “The TOUR Championship’s continued support helps advance the programs, opportunities and partnerships that strengthen our community, and we are deeply grateful for the investment that will continue to shape East Lake’s future for years to come.”
The TOUR Championship is proud to support local initiatives and the success of these efforts would not be possible without the incredible support from fans, partners and the community. By attending the tournament and getting involved, fans help fuel these important programs, creating lasting opportunities for Metro Atlanta’s communities.
